Receiving her Bachelor’s degree in Social and Behavioral Sciences from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and a Master’s Degree in Counseling and Psychology from Troy University, Martha has engaged in a dynamic psychotherapeutic and psychoeducational career, caring for a diverse pool of clients. Martha is an Licensed Professional Counselor who has worked with individuals, families and groups ranging from nine years of age into adulthood. She has worked with men, women, and children in outpatient and inpatient settings, using a variety of interventions and Treatment modalities: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness in Motion, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR),  Art and Reality Therapy.

When supporting clients in their process of healing and wellbeing, Martha utilizes a solutions focused and collaborative approach. She has worked with clients with various challenges to aid them in managing: Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Anxiety, Depression, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) as well as behavioral issues such as Oppositional Defiance, Anger Management, Autism and Antisocial behaviors.

During her career, Martha has received a variety of certifications, including: Mindfulness-Based Stressed Reduction (MBSR) Certification, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) Certification and is a certified Yoga Instructor. 

On a personal note, Martha grew up in Alabama and has a deep connection to the outdoors. In her spare time, she enjoys: hiking, horseback riding, cooking, creating art as well as laughing and visiting with family and friends.
