Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Cognitive behavioral therapy is a psycho-social intervention that aims to improve mental health. CBT focuses on challenging and changing unhelpful cognitive distortions and behaviors, improving emotional regulation, and the development of personal coping strategies that target solving current problems. | Reality Therapy Together, therapist and patient explore the ideal solution to problems and lay out the steps to make those solutions a reality. They also make an honest evaluation of the patient’s current choices and behaviors to determine whether change is needed to achieve the patient’s goals. Throughout the process, emphasis is placed on those actions and thoughts that are within the patient’s control rather than blaming or trying to control others. |
Art Therapy Art therapy involves the use of creative techniques such as drawing, painting, collage, coloring, or sculpting to help people express themselves artistically and examine the psychological and emotional undertones in their art. | Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Mindfulness-based stress reduction is an eight-week evidence-based program that offers secular, intensive mindfulness training to assist people with stress, anxiety, depression and pain. |
Psychoeducational & Psychotherapeutic Groups
For groups of four or more participants, I offer Psychoeducational sessions on Basic Mindfulness Skills and Mindfulness in Motion. In Mindfulness in Motion, participants utilize yoga postures to move Mindfully and become familiar with the Mind Body Spirit connection.
In Psychotherapeutic Group sessions, I work with participants to develop Mindfulness skills that address Anxiety, Depression, Anger, Daily Stress, Pain Management, Weight Management, and for managing ADHD symptoms.
